Get to Know Traveling Yoga with Lisa T
My name is Lisa Tyrrell and I”m the mastermind behind Traveling Yoga with Lisa T. I created Traveling Yoga with Lisa T out of a love of service to others and my passion for helping people to heal. It is my vision to use yoga as a means to heal the planet by incorporating a therapeutic approach focusing on the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. This philosophy has helped me to create a community centered on wellness. A community that makes yoga accessible for every-body. Who Am I I am a 50 something year old retired teacher turned yogi looking to make a difference in this world. My interest in yoga began in 2015, soon after my sister passed away from Breast Cancer. At the time, my practice was nothing serious, just the occasional DVD or YouTube video. In 2019, life circumstances led me to Strongheart Yoga for my first in studio experience. This motivated me to become an RYT200. Since 2020, life has continued to challenge my faith in the rawest of ways and each time I was able to fall back on my yoga practice for centering and sanity. It is this I want to share with the world. Being a retired teacher, education is important to me. My love for knowledge has led me to continue educating myself over the past five years. I am trained in Children's Yoga with a Trauma Informed Focus, Chair and Adaptive Yoga, and both Reiki I and II; most recently becoming an RYT500. (Meaning I have 500 hours of formal education in yoga philosophy, anatomy, physiology, and teaching methodology.) In September of 2024, I embarked on a three-year journey to becoming a Yoga Therapist. This voyage has helped me to discover my true passion… helping people heal from trauma; both physical and mental. It is something I have been called to do. My Mission My mission is simple - heal the planet one heart at a time by making yoga both affordable and accessible for those who need it most; people like yourself who are ready to heal. Yoga not only increases your flexibility, balance, and strength, it also connects your mind, body and spirit. I can testify, firsthand, as to the transformative benefits of yoga, as yoga has brought me back to me and who I was meant to be. Is there a better way to change the world?
